NCAA hockey is underway!
The CHL started a few weeks ago, the NHL started this week, and collegiate hockey followed suit. Philadelphia Flyers prospect Wade Allison had a stellar freshman season, and is looking to follow that up in his sophomore year.
Allison had quite the night for Western Michigan in their 6-1 opening night win.
Early in the first period he had a chance on a rebound, but he was denied.
He wouldn’t be denied on this one, though, as he jammed home the two-on-one chance early in the second period.
A nice finish for Allison.
But he was just getting started.
Later in the period he sped through the neutral zone then put a perfect drop pass on the stick of his teammate. And he ripped home a goal.
Last, but certainly not least, Allison showed off his slap shot with this cannon.
What a shot!
Allison finished with those three points, four shots on goal, and a plus-two rating in the 6-1 season opening win.
The USHL turned NCAA product had a successful freshman year with Western Michigan. Allison recorded 29 points (12 goals, 17 assists) in 36 games for the Broncos. He’s off to another fast start here in his sophomore year as well. He could be able to keep up the pace and develop into a nice scoring winger.
