The Lehigh Valley Phantoms grabbed another important win in front of a great crowd at the PPL Center. Mike Vecchione scored with less than a minute remaining in regulation to give the Phantoms a late lead and Phil Varone notched the empty-netter to clinch the victory, setting a career-high in goals with 19 and increasing his AHL leading point total to 62.
The Phantoms were without Travis Sanheim, who was called up to the Flyers on Friday, which meant that Phil Myers and TJ Brennan were relied on to carry the load on the back end. Dustin Tokarski picked up the win in the process, making 23 saves on 26 shots.
