The Philadelphia Flyers made history on Monday night as they hosted the Vegas Golden Knights at the Wells Fargo Center for the first time. It marked the return of Pierre-Edouard Bellemare to Philadelphia for the first time since being selected in the expansion draft last summer.
Claude Giroux sniped another goal, putting him within four of a career high, and Wayne Simmonds picked the perfect pocket to beat Marc-Andre Fleury top-shelf on the power play. But, in the end, the Golden Knights got the final laugh, beating Petr Mrazek thrice, including the game-winner with just 2:40 left in regulation.
