The Philadelphia Flyers took on the Detroit Red Wings for Wednesday Night Rivalry in front of a packed house at the Wells Fargo Center. After ending their season-high six-game winning streak, Philadelphia wanted to get back on track. Facing a Detroit team on the back end of a back-to-back, it provided the perfect opportunity.
They didn’t get out of the gate well in the first period, but Claude Giroux, Wayne Simmonds, Sean Couturier, and Jake Voracek powered their team to victory with pretty passes, great goals, and dominance in both ends. Robert Hägg recorded his first NHL goal. Brian Elliott was solid again for the Orange and Black.
