Nothing but love for my alternate captain.
After a fantastic breakout season last year, and garnering the respect he deserves from around the league, Sean Couturier has been named an alternate captain for the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2018-19 season.
Joining #Flyers captain @28CGiroux for the 2018-19 season:@Simmonds17 will be an alternate captain at all times.
Andrew MacDonald will be an alternate captain on the road.
Sean Couturier will be an alternate captain for Philadelphia on home ice.#LetsGoFlyers

Lost in the embarrassment that was the home opener was this news that the Flyers revealed about an hour before puck drop. It is a well-deserved honor for Couturier who has been an important part of the Flyers since his debut in 2011.
Couturier will wear the ‘A’ on home ice, and he debuted it on Tuesday night.

The grizzled veteran is still only 25 years old, and over the weekend became the youngest player in franchise history to appear in 500 games.
He appeared in his 500th game at the age of 25 years, 303 days; beating out Bob Kelly (26 years, 98 days) and Bobby Clarke (26 years, 132 days), among others.
Couturier is just the 35th player in franchise history to appear in 500 games with the Flyers.
Congratulations to Sean Couturier, and here’s to 500 more!
He has always done what was asked of him. Most complete forward innleague .
