Morin was assessed a minor on the play, but the AHL deemed it not enough and Morin will miss both of this weekends games: Friday and Saturday against Hartford.
Here is the play in question.
Morin catches Wilson in the numbers a few feet away from the boards and crosschecks him into them. It’s a dangerous play and one that Morin will have to phase out of his game as he moves up to the NHL level.
Morin racked up 118 penalty minutes in 76 games last season and has 83 in 49 games so far this season.
Physicality has always been a big part of Morin’s game, and for good reason. The 6’7″ defenseman is known for his size and ability to push people around. However, he’ll have to keep the penalties to a minimum at the next level.
