Just when we thought it couldn’t get any Sweder.
Lindblom finished the regular season with 22 goals and 25 assists for 47 points in 52 games while carrying a +16 rating. He continued to score in the postseason, with 4 goals and 10 assists for 14 points in 20 games as Brynas lost in the finals.
Lindblom ranked second in goals (one off of the lead), eighth in assists, and fourth in points during the 2016-17 season. Among the top ten scorers only Olli Palola (+19) had a plus-minus better than his +16.
It is all but official that Lindblom will come over to North America for next season. Watching Lindblom progress was one of the highlights this season among the Flyers and their prospects.
The SHL is one of the best leagues in the world, behind only the NHL and KHL, and Lindblom was the best forward playing as a 20-year old against grown men. He impressed game in and game out for Brynas.
After watching Lindblom all season and after he was now named the top forward in the SHL there is no doubt in my mind that Lindblom will make an impact in the Flyers’ top-six next season.
