Patrick didn’t take part in the on-ice portions as he continues to recover from abdominal surgery, but that didn’t stop him from having a blast and soaking up the experience among a strong group of prospects and an excited bunch of fans down in Stone Harbor. With his injury-riddled draft season with the Brandon Wheat Kings still lingering in the minds of some and a surely bogus story about him blowing off a fan making the rounds a bit on social media, it was nice to see Patrick happy, healthy and having fun.
While the off-ice activities are a far cry from the daily grind of the NHL schedule, it was still important to have Patrick in attendance. It’s safe to say that he’s moving along well in his recovery and will be back on the ice very soon.
For now, let’s take a look at Patrick’s time at his first Development Camp, the first of many memories the 18-year-old will make with the Flyers organization.
