The Philadelphia Flyers look like they’ve found a player in Morgan Frost.
Frost extended his point streak to 14 games on Saturday night with a goal and an assist for his 59th and 60th points of the season in his 36th game. He now leads the OHL in points as he continues to climb the leaderboards.
It was a hard-fought game for the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, who also extended their impressive streak, a winning streak, to 23 games in a shootout victory.
Frost got his first point of the night on a goal in the 1st period. He was in position in the right circle and one-timed a puck that bounced off the endboards into the open net. He called for the pass just before the shot off the endboards, but ending up scoring anyway.
Great positioning by Frost to net a fortuitous bounce.
The Greyhounds entered the 3rd period down 3-2, but Frost helped them tie it up quickly.
Frost won a faceoff back to the point, and the shot was deflected into the back of the net.
It was one of his 14 faceoff wins (on 23 tries) on the night. That tied it up at 3 just 28 seconds into the 3rd, and it remained that way until they pulled ahead for the victory in the shootout.
The Greyhounds have now won 23 games in a row, but more importantly Morgan Frost extended his fantastic streak.
Frost’s two points put him in sole place of the top spot of the OHL points leaderboard with 61.
He has 32 points (10 goals, 22 assists) during his 14 game point streak and has points in 18 of his last 19 games, with 39 points (14 goals, 25 assists) during that span.Frost has picked up 45 points (16 goals, 29 assists) in 22 games during the winning streak.
Frost now leads the OHL in points (60), is tied for 1st in assists (39), tied for 6th in goals goals (21), and still leads in plus-minus (+46).
