We’re into the dreaded period of the hockey calendar between Development Camp and Training Camp, where many players around the league are enjoying their time off or working out on their own.
Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Michal Neuvirth is one of those working hard to better prepare himself for the upcoming season. Neuvirth, home in the Czech Republic, is working out with Czech professional team HC Sparta Praha.

Neuvirth was 11-11-1 with an abysmal .891 save percentage and 2.82 goals against average last season. The only way for him to go is up.
Heading into the season with a true tandem, however, may benefit Neuvirth. Goaltenders are fickle creatures, and while Neuvy and Steve Mason had a decent share of the net, Mason was the lead horse whether Neuvirth was healthy or not. With an opportunity to take control of the crease for at least the time being, Neuvirth is working on his game and making sure he’s ready to go for training camp and the 2017-18 season.
Whether he stays healthy enough to even get his fair share of a split remains to be seen.
