The annual Teddy Bear Toss was a success for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. In the first period of the game, just 1:25 into regulation, Matt Read tipped a bouncing puck past the Laval Rocket’s goaltender to give the Phantoms a 1-0 lead. The teddy bears rained down.
Read’s celebration was great, something he hasn’t done much of since being sent down from the Philadelphia Flyers.
And then it rained teddy bears.. what a sight!
The Phantoms would eventually lose 4-3 in overtime, but the promotion was a roaring success once again at the PPL Center.
