Next man up.
Both Gostisbehere and Nolan Patrick are day-to-day, per Ron Hextall, and Morin is dealing with a nagging injury and his status will be more clear later this afternoon.
Per GM Ron Hextall, Gostisbehere & Patrick are day-to-day. Samuel Morin is dealing with nagging issue. Status will be known this afternoon.
With Gostisbehere out, and Morin possibly out, the Flyers will need to turn to the next man up. Mark Alt appears to be that guy.
Alt is a right-handed defensemen that is listed at 6’4″ and 201 lbs. He has one NHL game under his belt, with 9:25 of icetime during a shootout loss to the San Jose Sharks back on March 28th, 2015. He has been biding his time in the AHL as a reliable defenseman waiting for the call.
The 26-year old has dealt with injuries of his own in the past that caused him to miss an opportunity to get called up, but he is healthy now and could get the call. He leads the Phantoms defense with six points (two goals, four assists) and has a +6 rating through 10 games.
We will know more this evening as we inch closer to gametime, but right now it looks like Alt will get the call instead of Morin for the time being.
