The Philadelphia Flyers may only have two representatives at the World Junior Summer Showcase this year, but the only one that has played so far is already standing out.
Defenseman Linus Hogberg followed up a four shot, +2 performance in Sweden’s 4-3 win over USA Blue on Saturday with a two-point performance in a 4-3 loss to USA White on Sunday. His strong weekend is a good start to his push to make Sweden’s final World Junior Championship roster for the first time.
Hogberg assisted on Sweden’s first goal with this smooth, solid pass across the crease on the rush.
He then scored the goal to close the gap to 4-3 with over seven minutes to go in the third period with this blast from the point on the power play.
Hogberg’s two shots on goal give him six for the Showcase so far, which places him on the early leaderboard.
