What a great moment!
The Philadelphia Flyers selected Russian goalie Kirill Ustimenko in the third round with the 80th overall pick in last month’s draft, but he did not receive his draft jersey or hat until just now. Like most mid-round prospects from Europe, Ustimenko did not travel to the United States for the draft. And as he was unable to attend Development Camp (likely due to contractual reasons), he had to wait to get his fresh threads.
NHL agent Dan Milstein tweeted out a great family photo of Ustimenko with his parents and assumably his siblings. They’re ecstatic.

What a picture.
Ustimenko performed well with MHK Dynamo St. Petersburg in the MHL last season with a 1.74 goals against average and a league-high .938 save percentage in 27 games. He recently renewed his contract to stay there for another season.
Hopefully Ustimenko can soon rise up the prospect ranks for the Flyers as they are now quite deep at the goalie position. Carter Hart and Felix Sandstrom are the headliners, but don’t sleep on guys like Matej Tomek, Ivan Fedotov, or Kirill Ustimenko.
