Welcome to the new era of the franchise athlete in Philadelphia.
Nolan Patrick, the number two overall pick in this year’s draft, is set to perform in his first-ever NHL training camp with the expectation that he makes the Flyers’ roster for opening night. The Philadelphia Flyers know they have themselves a future cornerstone of the franchise and hope that he can handle the pressures of both the game and everything that comes with playing in Philly.
If his offseason habits are any indication, he’s on a similar path to another young star that plays his home games across the street from the Wells Fargo Center. Patrick posted a photo of his last hunt before the season begins in a move that Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz would approve of.
Patrick has plenty of evidence of him being an outdoorsman on his Instagram and his last three pics are a testament to that.
Please take note of the GOOD BOY all the way on the right.
The 18-year-old center is heading into training camp happy, healthy and confident in his ability to claim a spot this fall. He participated in Brandon Wheat Kings’ camp this week and played in an intrasquad game on Saturday as we await his debut on the ice as a Flyer on Monday as rookie camp gets underway.
