Hakstol shakes up top six; Weal to get a chance on third line

After a 1-1 road trip to start the season, Dave Hakstol is switching things up as the Philadelphia Flyers return to the Wells Fargo Center for their home opener on Tuesday.

Here are what the forward lines looked like on Monday morning at practice:

Giroux – Couturier – Voracek

Lindblom – Patrick – Konecny

Weal – Vorobyev – Simmonds

Laughton – Lehtera – Raffl

Jake Voracek was swapped to the top line to play alongside Claude Giroux and Sean Couturier. Because of the move, Hakstol has put Travis Konecny with Oskar Lindblom and Nolan Patrick – giving the Flyers fans a very fun look on the second line.

Jordan Weal slides into the third line wing position in place of the injured James van Riemsdyk, who will miss 5-6 weeks after suffering a lower-body injury on Saturday night. Weal took reps on the wing alongside Mikhail Vorobyev and Wayne Simmonds.

The fourth line remains the same. Dale Weise took reps as the 13th forward and was slotted on the wing with the fourth line.

On the defense, expect Radko Gudas to return to the lineup after sitting as the extra defenseman on Saturday. Christian Folin was not good in his Flyers regular season debut and will be the 7th defensemen.

The Flyers host the Sharks at 7 pm on Tuesday night during the home opener at the Wells Fargo Center.
