The Philadelphia Flyers tried to hang on for a point in Boston, but they could not. Again.
Nolan Patrick made a great between-the-legs pass to Jake Voracek for a goal early on, and Jori Lehtera scored a shorthanded goal in the second period, but a goal in the final minute sunk them in Boston.
Let’s get to it.
The Flyers got it going early on after Wayne Simmonds got hit with a high-stick.
What a pass.
The Flyers kept buzzing.
Voracek set up Oskar Lindblom in the slot, but he was denied.
Jori Lehtera was called for a weak slash.
But Matt Read did well on the penalty kill to get a clear.
Then the Bruins struck.
David Pastrnak wrapped the puck around and Riley Nash put it home.
Wayne Simmonds had a great chance in front, but it rang off iron.
Brad Marchand laid a dirty hit on Shayne Gostisbehere.
But the Flyers couldn’t convert on the power play.
Travis Konecny got into it in the crease, though.
Then Wayne Simmonds was tripped in the offensive zone, but there was no call.
And Brian Gionta immediately scored at the other end.
Simmonds was not happy.
Ivan Provorov laid out Brad Marchand.
The Flyers trailed 2-1 after one period of play.
The second line continued to generate chances, but they couldn’t bang it home.
The Flyers went back to the penalty kill, but that didn’t stop them.

Andrew MacDonald lost an edge in the corner and took an unfortunate hit late in the period.
The Flyers and Bruins were tied at 2 after two periods of play.
Konecny took a penalty early in the period, and the Flyers were able to kill it off.
Voracek went down hard along the boards, but he was okay.
The top line connected on a few passes, and Couturier drew a hook in front.
But they couldn’t convert.
Ivan Provorov’s rising rocket was stopped.
The Flyers tried to hang on for a point, but the Bruins scored with 22 seconds left to take a 3-2 lead.
A heartbreaking loss in Boston.
