The Philadelphia Flyers finished their two-game road trip through the Sunshine State with a battle against the red-hot Panthers. Winners of five-straight, Florida was ready to pounce.
Shayne Gostisbehere was ready to play in the rink he went to as a kid.
Petr Mrazek nearly made a huge mistake behind the net.
Then Radko Gudas got called for a bad interference penalty.
And Florida took advantage of Oduya, making it 1-0 very early.
Barkov completely undressed Mrazek.
Gudas then make a perfectly clean hit.
But had to answer for it.
The Panthers took advantage of the Flyers’ poor defense with a lob pass and another quick strike, making it 2-0.
Petr Mrazek was not happy.
The Flyers would trail 2-0 at the end of the first period.
Shayne Gostisbehere hosted the Marjory Stoneman Douglas hockey team at today’s game.
The Flyers were looking for a better second period, but it did not go their way. Ivan Provorov his the post.
Oskar Lindblom came close to scoring, again, but he was only able to generate a rebound chance.
Then Dadonov scored his second of the game.
The Flyers went into the third period down three goals.
Radko Gudas took a terrible penalty early in the period.
Then Huberdeau made it 4-0, basically icing the game.
But Travis Konecny would spoil Roberto Luongo’s shutout with his 17th goal of the season!
Manning’s shot got through and Konency backhanded it home!
But that would be all the Flyers could do on Sunday. Forty shots on goal, but one made it into the net. They have now lost three-straight and only grabbed one out of a possible four points in Florida.
Where we going, Dave? Home? Sounds good.
The Flyers return to action on Wednesday against the Penguins.
