The Philadelphia Flyers hit the road to Chicago, but it wasn’t a good trip. They couldn’t solve Corey Crawford all night long and ultimately fell 3-0 to the Blackhawks.
The boys were ready to go in Chicago.
Provorov prepared for another heavy workload.
The 3rd pair struggled early on.
Brandon Manning got blown by for a scoring chance.
Then Brian Elliott stood tall after a Mark Alt turnover.
The Flyers had a few early chances, but they couldn’t convert.
They couldn’t get a shot off during a 3-on-1 chance.
Travis Konecny redirected Ivan Provorov’s breakout pass to spring Valtteri Filppula for a breakaway, but he fired wide.

Ivan Provorov is out here playing top-notch defense, no big deal.
Connor Murphy leveled Taylor Leier with this hit.
Then had to answer to Scott Laughton.
Jake Voracek got in hard on the forecheck to nearly create a goal.
But Brent Seabrook saved it.
Konecny fed Filppula for a wraparound with a beautiful pass, but Corey Crawford got across just in time.
Filppula got called for an iffy penalty, but he didn’t agree with it.
Robert Hagg made a great defensive play on the penalty kill to save a goal.
The Flyers and Blackhawks were scoreless after one period of play.
Elliott made a quick glove save to deny a Brandon Saad chance.
Mark Alt got an unlucky delay of game penalty.
But the Flyers killed it off.
Filppula fed Travis Sanheim for a great chance, but Crawford had the answer.
Giroux subtly redirected a Voracek pass to Couturier for a chance.
Then Manning took a holding penalty.
And the Blackhawks broke their power-play drought.
20 seconds later, it was 2-0.
Toews opened up Brian Elliot and went five-hole.
The breakaway opportunity occurred due to a bouncing puck at the blue line over Hagg’s stick.
The Flyers had a few chances on the power play, but Crawford had all the answers.
The Flyers trailed 2-0 after two periods of play.
They had a few great chances to begin the period, but Corey Crawford stoned them all.
Voracek and Giroux each had good rushes to the net, but they were denied.
Elliott made a quick save in the 3rd.
Debrincat sealed it with an empty-netter.
