Philadelphia Flyers forward prospect German Rubtsov helped his junior team take a 2-1 series lead in the QMJHL Finals on Tuesday night. Rubtsov opened the scoring for the Acadie-Bathurst Titan, and that helped them to a 5-2 win to take a 2-1 series lead.
Rubtsov has had a quieter season, but his team is making some noise.
Rubtsov was in the slot on the power play and crept down towards the crease to deflect home a shot from the circle.
He got into good position in front of the net and had his stick in the right spot to redirect it home.
Look at that stache and smile.
It was the first point of the finals for Rubtsov, who had eight points (four goals, four assists) in the seven games prior to this series. Rubtsov has 10 points (five goals, five assists) and a +5 rating in 16 playoff games this season.
The Titan are now just two wins away from winning the QMJHL. Game 4 is on Friday night at 7:00 p.m.
