The Philadelphia Flyers have re-signed one of their restricted free agents.
Scott Laughton agreed to a two-year, $2.3 million AAV deal, the team announced on Friday

Laughton will be an unrestricted free agent after the 2020-21 season.
He set career highs in goals (12), assists (20) and points (32) last season while playing in all 82 games. He scored all of his goals, and 30 of his 32 points, at even strength.
“One way or another, that will get done in the next few weeks here,” Fletcher said Friday, just hours before the announcement. “That’s a little bit more of a front-burner issue just because we have that date scheduled, and when you have tight deadlines like that it certainly leads to more communication.”
The former first-round pick hasn’t lived up to that potential of a top-six forward, but he has carved out a role for himself in the bottom-six and on the penalty kill. He played in all 82 games last season and averaged 14:51 per game, nearly four minutes more than his career up to that point (11:08 per game).
Laughton is locked up and hopefully Ivan Provorov and Travis Konecny are next. The Flyers now have $12.6 million in cap space for Provorov and Konecny.
