Some injury news for the Philadelphia Flyers on their road trip. Ron Hextall announced that defenseman Brandon Manning and goaltender Michal Neuvirth have been placed on injured reserve. As a result, defenseman TJ Brennan and goaltender Alex Lyon have been recalled from Lehigh Valley.
Both Brennan and Lyon will be available for tonight’s game at Edmonton. Brennan will wear no. 43 and Lyon will wear no. 49. They were on a 14-hour flight last night, heading to meet the team in Edmonton.
Brennan leads the Phantoms defense in scoring with 15 points (2 G, 13 A) in 17 games, which is also tied for seventh among AHL defensemen while his 13 assists are tied for fourth. This is Lyon’s first recall to the Flyers after signing an entry-level contract with the organization on Apr. 5, 2016 out of Yale University. He has an 8-6-1 record this season with a 3.31 GAA and .894 save percentage. He appeared in four preseason games for the Flyers this year posting a 1-1-1 record with a .924 save percentage and 2.32 GAA.
Puck drop is set for 9:30 p.m. in Edmonton.
