Flyers recall Alex Lyon from Lehigh Valley

The injury bug continues to hurt the Philadelphia Flyers. Over the weekend, following a tough 4-3 OT loss to the Sharks, another goaltender got hurt.

Brian Elliott left practice on Sunday after colliding with Travis Konecny. In lieu of the injury, the Flyers recalled Alex Lyon from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms to replace Elliott for the time being.

In accordance with the move, Michal Neuvirth has been placed on IR to make room for Lyon on the roster.

Lyon played well in his time with the Flyers last season. He is coming off a 40-save performance over the weekend in an OT win. He will likely be the backup for Cal Pickard, who got the start in San Jose. Lyon will wear no. 34 in Arizona on Monday night.
