It is official.
With the NHL Draft Lottery on Saturday night, it has been confirmed that the Philadelphia Flyers will get the St. Louis Blues’ first round pick in the 2018 NHL Draft.
The Flyers now have the 14th and 19th picks in the first round of the 2018 NHL Draft.
The Flyers acquired St. Louis’ pick in last year’s Brayden Schenn trade. They got Morgan Frost, this first round pick, and Jori Lehtera for Brayden Schenn. Frost was one of the best players in the OHL this year and the Flyers are set to get another great prospect at 14th overall in this year’s draft.
They could also look to move one of these two picks, or package them together to move up in the draft if they desire.
This will be a big offseason for Ron Hextall and the Flyers. Having two picks in the teens will be a great start at the draft.
The 2018 NHL Draft will be held on June 22nd and 23rd at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.
