What a save!
The Phantoms were in need of goalie help after Anthony Stolarz’s surgery, and Leland Irving wasn’t cutting it. Enter Tokarski. Tokarski, like Irving, has been a journeyman in his career but is off to a great start with the Phantoms.
In the first period of Friday night’s win, Tokarski made an unbelievable glove save to rob Colin Markison.
Take a look.
What. A. Save.
It’s even more impressive in slow motion.
Tokarski made 31 saves against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, but none were bigger than that one.
“I got tripped up there and then it was just a desperation save. Sometimes you get lucky,” Tokarski said after the game.
He stopped 31 of the 33 shots he faced to win his first start with the Phantoms. He was named the second star of the game for his efforts.
Tokarski is hoping to be a solid backup for starter Alex Lyon, and he’s off to a fantastic start.
