The Philadelphia Flyers are going with a different lineup in Game No. 2 of the 2018-19 season. After winning their opener against the Vegas Golden Knights, 5-2, many thought that they would stick with that lineup heading into Colorado. However, Dave Hakstol had other ideas.
The large majority of the lineup remains the same, but the third defensive pair will see a change. Radko Gudas is out for Christian Folin in Colorado.

Gudas had a strong showing in the opener, as did most defensemen, but Hakstol had this lineup change predetermined before the season even began.
“He’s had a really good training camp, so he’s going to go into the lineup tonight,” Hakstol said. “He certainly has earned that, and like I said, it’s a group of seven guys we want to grow and develop and improve as an entire group as we go through the entire year.”
Hakstol wanted to use all seven defensemen on this two-game road trip to start the season, just like how he used all seven (Travis Sanheim in for Brandon Manning) to start last season.
Folin will be alongside Travis Sanheim on the third pairing.
Puck drop is set for 9:00 p.m. EST in Colorado.
