Philadelphia Flyers goalie prospect Carter Hart was officially reassigned to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms earlier this week, and on Tuesday afternoon he participated in his first practice with the team.

Hart said over the weekend that he was excited to be a part of the AHL playoffs but he had “no idea” what the plan was with the Phantoms. He could just be there as a warm body in case something happens to Alex Lyon, or he could have a legitimate chance to play.
Either way, Hart is prepared to soak in the whole experience. “It’s definitely a great learning experience to go down there and learn from some of the pros and to see what it’s like and just to be there and work hard and listen,” he told Jesse Geleynse of the Everett Herald.
The Phantoms just recently ended their season on a hot streak, and are ready to Rally the Valley for their postseason run. Their first round, best-of-five series gets underway this Friday night against the Hershey Bears.
