Another award for Carter.
Philadelphia Flyers top goalie prospect Carter Hart has been named the WHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending December 3rd, 2017. It’s nothing new for Hart, who received the same honor the previous two weeks and was also named the WHL Goaltender of the Month for November. Last season Hart was named the Goaltender of the Week four times, including back-to-back in mid-November.
Hart was a brick wall again this week, stopping 62 of the 63 shots he faced. He went 2-0 with his 23rd career shutout in a 30-save effort on Saturday night. He ended the week with a 0.50 goals against average and .984 save percentage.
Hart is 9-2-0-1 since the beginning of November with four of those wins being shutouts. He has allowed two goals or less in each of his last nine games. On top of that he’s allowed just eight total goals in his last nine games.
Hart was the CHL Goaltender of the Year in 2015-16, the WHL Goaltender of the Year in 2016-17, and is well on his way to another one this season. He leads the league in save percentage (.956) and goals against average (1.46).
