Another day, another injury to a Philadelphia Flyers goaltender. In the third period of their 3-0 loss to the New Jersey Devils, goaltender Brian Elliott attempted to make a save on a wrap-around chance. He wouldn’t be able to make the save and then left the game with an injury.
Take another look.
Elliott will now miss two weeks with a lower-body injury. Alex Lyon was recalled to fill in for Elliott and backup Cal Pickard, but the fact remains that the Flyers are struggling and their goalies cannot stay healthy. It’ll be a Pickard/Lyon combo for the Orange and Black until the beginning of December.
