Bill Clement will always speak his mind.
In last night’s loss to the Edmonton Oilers, Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Brandon Manning answered the bell as he fought Patrick Maroon in the second period. The rivalry between Manning and Connor McDavid (and his bodyguards) was a big storyline going into the game, and it delivered.
Maroon and Manning were chatting back and forth all game, and then Maroon finally grabbed Manning after a faceoff and they dropped the mitts. Manning gave up some size to Maroon, but put his heart into the bout.
It was an A for effort, Brandon.
After the fight Bill Clement had some choice words about Patrick Maroon. Take a listen.
There’s certainly some Philadelphia bias to Clement’s words, but he isn’t wrong. None of the Oilers did anything in Philadelphia but only acted on home ice after McDavid whined to the media.
You may not always agree with him, but Clement is one of the most entertaining announcers out there.
