With half of their star goaltending tandem out for the season in Anthony Stolarz, Alex Lyon has been forced to shoulder the load. He has done an admirable job, but he came up gimpy after an awkward sequence in the crease midway through the third period of game two.
Lyon’s right leg appeared to catch the post in an awkward spot.
He was in pain immediately.
Here’s another look.
Martin Ouellette came in for Lyon, who put little weight on his right leg as he left the ice.
Lyon made 20 saves on 21 shots in game one and stopped 10 of 13 shots he faced before leaving in game two.
Here’s hoping for the best, Alex.
